When I first played the original Hitman back in the day I immediately fell in love with the game and it's ideals. This carried over into the second game and I played until I couldn't play anymore.
Eventually, I forgot about the game due to so many other game interests and things I was doing up until Hitman: Absolution released which was okay and brought back a lot of that excitement but, the overcooked points system there ultimately killed my interest.
That was up until Hitman got rebooted and it was epic despite the annoying overcharged price of episodic content it still did things a heck of a lot better than ever before while trying to improve and take the game to new heights.

Hitman 2 meets that mark in a lot of ways but, also goes above it. Hitman 2 is a lot of things all rolled up into one in a super-edgy game.
It does it quite well bringing back a lot of the old feelings mixed in with the new and still feels like it's back and awesome for the better as it definitely comes out on top with a good story, good graphics, great audio with decent gameplay to keep you busy and wanting more especially because there are literally so many ways to kill your targets.
You will really feel pulled into the world of Hitman 2 enough to make you wanna get the Legacy Pack which pretty much lets you carry over all of the content from the previous Hitman giving you even more fun stuff to do in the long run. This is an awesome thing because the first one kinda ruined it by overcharging for episode missions that were separated ongoing dlc to add which was one of the bigger problems originally.
The gameplay itself is quite nice and maybe a little short with a hint of a repetative feeling but at least there's plenty to do to sidetrack you from realizing it. The AI is fairly challenging for the most part and even if you think you've got it down to a predictable science, trust me, something will go wrong in this game, Hitman 2 is built to unfold that way even if you master it. There were plenty of times I thought I had a solid handle on things when things escalated really quick out of nowhere all because the AI did something I didn't expect which was a really nice challenging touch.
The controls handle very well too, I don't have any complaints about that other than my controller disconnected a few times but I am pretty sure that was a windows bug since resyncing it seems to have fixed it and I haven't had any further issues.
Another thing I would like to take a moment to point out and clarify is from what I know a lot of people got the game expecting there to be legitimate co-op play. Technically in a matter of speaking the game is co-op but, it's not the cooperative play you were expecting. Instead, it is more of a co-op with competitive aspect to it aka versus in something called Ghost Mode which keeps me coming back to play the game. I like this a lot better than repetitive contracts. Basically, it's just that in a nutshell. You are playing co-op against your another player in a race to 5 kills that can affect the other person or worse lose out if you kill the wrong target. It would have been nice to see this as a work together option alongside that which could be a lot of fun, who knows, maybe in HM3?..
Anyhow, even if you haven't tried the game or are a bit curious about it I would say it's worth a go whether you choose to buy it or just download and try out the first demo mission.

- CONS -
- I don't like how they did the story and cut scenes, it's very static and boring except for when you're going into missions then those cutscenes are animated which look nice at least but that is not very consistant and doesn't add up
- Does get very repetative even with contracts
- Game claims to be Co-op, it's moreover Versus
- At times the AI does get a little predictable but not always at least
- The hint missions of interest kinda force you into beating things too quickly
- Leaving bags or weapons and such on the ground that other npcs cannot see even though it's just to change your stuff or diguise is not very realistic, kills immersion and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever no matter how you try to justify it
- They said the game wouldn't be episode buy based but it still kinda is because you only have a handful of missions for the campaign that are very short despite the levels being really large so when you're done all you have left is dlc that is added or the legacy packs and you will still have to buy those unless they release some free which is unlikely.
- Demo Version of the game was carried over from the previous Hitman which is very dumb and lazy for the devs to not bother enough to create a new updated demo level

= VERDICt =
In short, the game is mostly fun and the ghost mode is a nice addition that are enough to recommend it.
However, unless you are a completionist or get the legacy packs and everything in the game do be advised that you may find the game to be a bit on the short side of things that could potentially but, the Ghost Mode, Sniper Mode, and replay value will be enough to keep you coming back.
Therefore, I would strongly advise waiting for a sale before picking it up.
