So I found a deal and decided to go ahead and get Strange Brigade despite the bad things I heard..
Initially, I wasn't apart of the riff-raff that had been sucker-punched by the over hype so that wasn't a shocker to me as much. To my surprise I found that I actually liked the game for a lot of different reasons and that just tells me that people hating on this game just let the hype build up too much to the point of just flat out dissin' the game entirely. Therefore I am convinced that's a big factor as to what killed the game for many even if stated otherwise.
For me I actually like what I see and I am definitely enjoying the game so far after getting through it roughly 5 levels in including the Horde & Point Attack Modes. Additionally, while I probably won't get the extra characters pack I might get the weapons dlc and more than likely definitely the extra missions and for what it does have the levels are very long to last for a good while until you beat a mission so that's a welcomed addition to the game value!
The biggest reason I really like this game is mostly because I really enjoyed Zombie Army Trilogy and this really isn't all that much different so naturally I discovered that I really liked what I saw here as well.
It has a lot of action happening that is spread throughout the game fairly evenly. There are a ton of puzzles to solve with new ones to try out the further you get into the game and yes they do get a lot harder the further into the game you go. Bringing along some friends to play with you to help solve them if organized well enough can definitely help you out of a jam. There are also tons of items to find like cat statues and little jars and other things.
Additionally, the enemies in the game get a heck of a lot harder with fairly often occasional tough bosses to test your skills that gradually increases. After playing awhile I have still missed quite a few things so there's a good chance I am going back to look for that stuff all over again because I love finding everything I can in games.
Either way it goes, I can definitely say without a doubt that I am really enjoying it so far and will probably play it to the end and maybe come back. If anything I would recommend finding a friend or setting the game to open to everyone to join but it's still pretty good solo too!

+ PROS +
+ Good Graphics
+ Good Audio
+ Interesting Story and Scenes
+ Narrator is Hilarious
+ Nice looking Characters and Enemys
+ The treasure and puzzle thing is nice.
+ I feel like im in an Indiana Jones movie only with magic..
+ Lots of Goodies to loot and search for..
+ Lots of Enemies and Bosses to fight off!
+ The Soul and Gem System I think is a unique and nice addition to the game
+ Horde Mode so there is some replayability even if it gets repetative, still adds a lot of value
+ Does get harder the further you go so there is challenges that lay ahead
+ Improved UI System that works a lot more fluidly compared to ZAT, looks better and cleaner

- CONS -
- It does get somewhat repetative but then again what game doesnt..
- The game feels very short which sucks but hey at least theres horde etc and dlc missions
- I don't like that the extra missions were turned into buyable dlc that really doesn't seem worth the asking price but i'll let you guys know my thoughts when i get it

= To sum this all up it's pretty much like being in an Indiana Jones Movie! The verdict on this one is pretty solid or at least I think so. Yeah, its a bit short from what I am seeing and playing but reasonable enough.
I probably wouldn't recommend buying it at full price though you can if you're impatient then you would just be supporting the devs in hopes of potential content being added even though realistically that is up in the air unless the game gets enough support to deem it such. Otherwise, wait for a sale then get.
Truthfully at that point I feel it'll be worth a good couple run through's and a heck of a lot of fun!
